📅 12 to 8 Months Before the Big Day

Your dress is sorted, now what?

• Get your seamstress booked in
  Bridal alterations take time, and the good ones get snapped up quickly. Plus size wedding dresses often need a little extra tailoring to ensure the fit is flattering, comfortable and supportive. The earlier you get started, the better.
• Start shoe shopping
  Heels, sparkly flats or something a little different, whatever you choose, get them early. You’ll need them for your fittings, and yes, we stock wide fit bridal shoes right here at Curvy Chic so you won’t have to sacrifice comfort for style.
• Organise the Bridal party outfits

Let the fun begin!

• Choose your finishing touches
  If you haven’t already, start to think veils, hair pieces, jewellery, belts. Try on different options during fittings to see what works with your dress. We have handpicked accessories that perfectly complement curvy bridal wear without ever feeling fussy or overdone.
• Considering a second dress?

👗 4 to 3 Months Before

It’s all coming together

• Collect your gown
  We’ll steam it, pack it beautifully and make sure everything is perfect. When you take it home, store it somewhere cool and dry away from sunlight, moisture or curious pets.
• Kick off your fittings
  This is where the magic really happens. When your dress arrives in, you’ll take it to your seamstress for your first fitting. You’ll see your gown start to take shape around your body and it’ll feel more like yours with every visit.
• Book in your beauty bits
  Hair and makeup trials, brow shaping, facials, even teeth whitening, get those appointments scheduled. Just make sure to avoid trying anything brand new right before the wedding.
• Refine the fit
  You’ll usually have at least one more fitting with your seamstress to make sure everything is sitting just right. Bring along your shoes, underwear and accessories so your seamstress can work with the full picture.

🎀 One Month to Go

Almost there

• Final fitting time
  This is your last check before the big day. Do a little walk, sit, even a tiny dance, make sure nothing digs, pulls or moves in a way it shouldn’t. Comfort is just as important as the look.
• Prep your bridal emergency kit
  It’s always smart to have a few little lifesavers tucked away. We’re talking fashion tape, plasters, safety pins, mints and a needle and thread just in case. But this could be a fun job for your head bridesmaid/bestie to take care of 😉

Time to breathe and enjoy it all 🧘‍♀️

• Try everything on one last time
  A final dress rehearsal is a great way to ease any nerves. It’s also a lovely excuse to take a quiet moment and soak it all in.
• Soak up every second
  You’ve done all the work. Your gown fits beautifully. You’re ready. And you are going to look absolutely stunning.
